Biodiversity Literature Repository: Building the customized FAIR repository by using custom metadata

چکیده
In the landscape of general-purpose repositories, Zenodo was built at European Laboratory for Particle Physics' (CERN) data center to facilitate sharing and preservation long tail research across all disciplines scientific domains. Given Zenodo’s tradition making artifacts FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), there are still challenges in applying these principles effectively when serving needs specific Plazi’s biodiversity taxonomic literature processing pipeline liberates from publications, it via extensive metadata, minting a DataCite Digital Object Identifier (DOI), licence both human- machine-readable output provided by Zenodo, accessible Biodiversity Literature Repository community Zenodo. A Metadata Repository API
The Internet provides users with a wealth of data. Much of this data is maintained in passive data sources, that is sources which do not provide facilities to search and query the information. In this paper we describe an approach to querying passive data sources based on the extraction and exploitation of metadata from the data sources. We describe two situations where this approach has been u...
متن کاملA Digital Metadata Schema Repository
The metadata schema of a digital archive describes the structure and attributes of metadata. Analysis and definition of metadata schema for a new digital archive must be carefully performed at the first stage. To ease the task, we implement a metadata schema repository to store metadata schemas as Extensible Markup Language (XML) documents in a native XML database. The metadata schema repositor...
متن کاملMetadata in the e-learning repository
The aim of the article is to present the model of knowledge repository based on the metadata standards used to describe the educational course contents using LOM (Learning Object Metadata) as the example. The components of description of metadata on various aggregation levels as well as exemplary tools for metadata edition are presented. The importance of this model for development of e-learnin...
متن کاملUsing Automatic Metadata Extraction to Build a Structured Syllabus Repository
Syllabi are important documents created by instructors for students. Students use syllabi to find information and to prepare for class. Instructors often need to find similar syllabi from other instructors to prepare new courses or to improve their old courses. Thus, gathering syllabi that are freely available, and creating useful services on top of the collection, will yield a digital library ...
